Congratulations to the first panel of Appalachian Innovation Scholars!

Congratulations to BCHS faculty Dr. Kyle Thompson, senior lecturer in nutrition and dietetic internship director in the Department of Nutrition & Health Care Management and Dr. Louise Keegan, program director in the Deparment of Communication Sciences & Disorders.

Dr. Thompson proposes to develop an interprofessional simulation education model designed to prepare health professions students to recognize and respond to patient nutrition issues as members of primary care teams specifically operating in rural settings.

Dr. Keegan's collaboration with Dr. Paul Wallace focuses on the development of socially assistive robotics (SAR) for traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, education and outreach, and will support interdisciplinary faculty and student research, develop curriculum and new courses in the field of social robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).

Congratulations Kyle and Louise!
