Food insecurity - it's real and it's a problem in the High Country

Dr. Adam Hege, an assistant professor of public health in the Department of Health and Exercise Science in the Beaver College of Health Sciences, worked with focus groups, churches and hunger support organizations to determine the levels of food insecurity within Caldwell and Watauga counties. His research offers an insight to food insecurity within our region, as well as the ability to make real changes.
