Interprofessional education has been a focus of the Beaver College of Health Sciences since the college was founded in 2010. Interprofessional learning is crucial to both the college goals of being nationally recognized for innovation and collaboration and ensuring BCHS graduates are prepared to work effectively across and within interprofessional environments and disciplines.
There has been increasing recognition of the key role that effective teamwork and collaboration between fields plays in improving the quality and safety of health care. By equipping students with interdisciplinary experiences before entering professional settings, BCHS graduates leave with the ability to make significant contributions and spearhead interprofessional teamwork in their fields.
