In Memorium: Mary Stevenson Shook
December 10, 1918 - March 25, 2017
Appalachian's first health care provider Mary Stevenson (Shook) was born Dec. 10, 1918, near Taylorsville in North Carolina's Alexander County at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Desiring to help others, she chose nursing as her career. We are so appreciative of all Nurse Shook did for Appalachian and our students, she will remain in our hearts forever.
