Dr. Rebecca Battista named President of the Southeast Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine

Dr. Rebecca Battista, Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science, was named President-Elect of the Southeastern American College of Sports Medicine (SEACSM). The SEACSM is a regional chapter within the American College of Sports Medicine, consisting of members from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

The announcement was made at this year’s conference held from February 15 to February 17 in Chattanooga, Tennessee with a record number of over 1,200 registrants in attendance. “It is a really strong chapter that is well represented at the national level. SEACSM has had numerous Board Members move on to become Board Members and President of the American College of Sports Medicine. It is truly an honor to be elected,” said Battista.
