Resort and Commercial Recreation Association's Excellence in Research Award is presented to Dr. Melissa Weddell

The Resort and Commercial Recreation Association (RCRA) presented the 2017 Excellence in Research Award to Dr. Melissa Weddell, Program Director and Associate Professor in the Department of Recreation Management & Physical Education, at the Association’s annual conference held in Sunriver, Oregon, November 11-14, 2017.

The RCRA Excellence in Research Award recognizes the valuable contribution of a selected piece of research that is presented at the RCRA Research Symposium.

In recognition of her valuable contribution to research in the study, “Nomadtopia: Emerging Tourism Markets,” the Resort and Commercial Recreation Association encourages Dr. Weddell to continue her research and engagement in the field of commercial recreation. Additionally, Dr. Weddell is a past recipient of the RCRA Outstanding Professor Award (2015).
