The lectures facilitated by Dr. Nancy Orel on the topic of "Opioid Misuse and Addiction Among Older Adults," were well attended with approximately 115 attendees on Wednesday, October 17 and over 200 for the presentation on Thursday, October 18. Orel provided enlightening statistics about the opioid crisis, including the fact that 131 people will die today in the U.S. from an opioid overdose.
