Health sciences faculty and students facilitated activities, shared information, and represented their programs at the annual Beaver College Interprofessional Fair on April 10 in the Lewis Atrium of Levine Hall.
Since many health careers require interdisciplinary (or interprofessional) collaboration to provide care and services, the BCHS fair presents an annual opportunity to learn about other health professions.
Tables for different programs filled the Atrium and included interactive displays or activities including:
Guessing the amount of sugar in different packaged drinks (Nutrition)
Deciding what type of liquid (water, hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol) to clean a wound (Athletic Training); the correct answer is to use water to clean the wound.

Experiencing an interactive, lifelike infant simulator used for student training (Nursing)
Pouring liquid into a cup to determine the size of an alcoholic beverage (SBIRT or Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral for Treatment program)
Graduate programs from the college (including Nutrition, Occupational Therapy (faculty members Elizabeth Jasper and Dr. Jenny Womack pictured above talking to a prospective student), Athletic Training, Social Work, Exercise Science, Speech-Language Pathology, Public Health, Health Administration) and the Wake Forest PA School shared application and enrollment information for prospective graduate students.

“The health and healthcare challenges facing us moving forward require interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration, and many national accrediting bodies require it of academic programs in higher education,” said BCHS Associate Dean Adam Hege, PhD, who organized the 2025 event. “Opportunities like the IPE fair along with other opportunities and collaborations throughout the year help prepare students in the Beaver College of Health Sciences for success in their future careers.”
